Launch of YouthStart

Minister Conor Burns MP launches YouthStart, funded through the Community Renewal Fund under Levelling Up Agenda.

Working with Youth Action as lead partner, alongside Princes Trust, Bytes, NI Youth Forum, YouthStart delivers much needed employability support across the region. Springboard is delighted to be providing a vital employability service to young people within the Belfast area.

At the event compered by Pamela Ballantine, Minister Burns spoke of his time as a young person in North Belfast and his desire to always ensure there were valuable opportunities available for young people.  YouthStart provides one such opportunity and is part of £220 million of funding to pilot programmes before the introduction of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Steph O’Rourke, Springboard’s Deputy Director welcomed the opportunity to work alongside the partnership to meet the diverse needs of young people. ‘We are delighted to be involved in the programme and offer employability support, particularly for young people who wish to gain Level 2 in Youth and Community Work.”
