Springboard is delighted to be a recipient of the Mental Health Support Fund with our programme M-Space, to provide increased well-being support and services for our young people.
Over a two-year period, M-Space will reach, engage and support over 500 young people through recovery-focused services. The multi-faceted programme will support Mental Health Ambassadors to spearhead a youth-led programme and increase staff expertise in mental health practice.
Steph O’Rourke, Deputy Director and Springboard’s Mental Health Champion welcomed news of the programme, ‘Arising from our research carried out over the last two years, including our research Unlocking your Lockdown Potential, M-Space will build expertise in mental health practice and provide recovery-oriented interventions for young people, which is vital at this time.
We are committed to offering support in different ways to meet diverse needs, whether that’s on a one-to-one basis, through workshops, or support networks. It’s about increasing protective factors against mental illness and #changingthespace’
The Mental Health Support Fund, being administered and managed by the Community Fund for N Ireland, on behalf of the Department announced an allocation of £6.8m in this round, supporting 77 projects.
M-Space places young people at the centre of their recovery, alongside support from peers and staff. The programme will also reaffirm and amplify positive mental health messages.
