Empowering Communities
14-NOW, a continuation of the initial Fourteen project, supported communities in Creggan, Monkstown and Limavady to design and lead on community solutions in response to community needs. By the end, the project had reached and positively directly engaged 11,000+ participants.

What is 14-NOW?
Springboard supported community partners in Monkstown, Limavady and Creggan to work with residents to design and lead on local activities to respond to local needs. Key project themes focused on increasing wellbeing and improving perceptions of disability, plus choice of optional themes of empowering young people, improving social connection and increasing volunteering.
Over three years 14-NOW directly engaged 11,000+ participants and indirectly engaged 194,646 participants. By the end of the programme 98% of all participants reported they had experienced an increase in their self-esteem and confidence as a result of taking part in their project. (inFocus, 2022)
Community partners were Old Library Trust (Creggan), Monkstown Boxing Club (Monkstown) and Roe Valley Residents Association (RVRA).
